Replacing the old runway of Shah Amanat International Airport, Chattogram by a new paved, diligently constructed runway was a challenging task. Because it was the single runway available in this airport and even Bangladesh Airforce too used to make use of the same. It was of 3200 meters length. Working for the whole day long wasn’t possible as it would have affected the daily operations. Making the most of the nights was the only alternative available. Besides, the Airport Authority would have been liable for a huge penalty if the work was not completed in stipulated time and the deadlines were crossed.

All these pressing issues made it an uphill task. And hence selection of the correct fleet of machines was very crucial. Currently, the contractor has a fleet of Dynapac asphalt ranges from 9-10 Tons range Tandem Roller CC 425- 6 nos, Dynapac soil ranges 13 Tons- 1 no & the Beast Dynapac SD2500C – 9 Meter paver- 1 no for this prestigious project, other ongoing works & aftermarket supported by our local dealer Runner Trading ltd, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Mr M. G. Mustafa, Sr. Executive Director, Mir Akhter Hossain Ltd, planned to expand his fleet of Dynapac machines to handle the Chattogram Airport assignment. For him the choice was obvious as he had a wonderful experience with Dynapac all through out. He commented, “We have been using Dynapac machines for more than 1 year, having employed them on several challenging Airport projects. These machines have been integral to the success of all our projects related to asphalt work, soil compaction, irrespective of different specifications and customer requirements. We have found Dynapac machines such as Asphalt Pavers, Soil Compactors and Tandem Rollers to provide high performance and flexibility with low cost of maintenance. For example, we never faced major breakdown of machine during our work tenure. With an expanded fleet, we will have the capability to handle more projects in the future.”
