The Future of Road Construction Technology: The Dynapac SD1800W e Impresses at Höhler

On February 28, 2025, a significant milestone was achieved in German road construction: Our fully electric road paver, the Dynapac SD1800W e, was successfully put into operation at Höhler – a first in Germany!

During a four-day practical test in Schwerte, our electric paver impressively demonstrated its performance, efficiency, and environmental benefits. Zero-emission operation, low energy consumption, and high paving quality – these were just some of the positive feedback points the Höhler team provided after their first intensive use of the SD1800W e.

Sustainable Performance in Real-World Applications

A particularly demanding test involved laying a 10 cm base course for a bike path with an incline of up to 15%. The paver delivered its full performance: After five hours of operation, the battery still had 30% charge remaining – exceeding expectations. In the following days, the SD1800W e continued to impress with its consistent and reliable performance.

Our innovative 98 kWh lithium-ion battery, combined with a powerful 55 kW three-phase electric motor (with a peak output of 200 kW), enables long operating times and fast recharging.

Höhler’s experience confirms: A charging time of just 1.5 hours is sufficient for a full recharge – from 5% to 80% in just 40 minutes.

The deployment of our SD1800W e proves that sustainable, zero-emission technology performs even under demanding conditions. A quieter working environment, reduced vibrations, and impressive paving quality – all clear advantages of electric road pavers. The SD1800W e operates over 20% quieter than comparable machines.
